BDAS invites entries under the following guidelines:​
There is a limit of 2 pieces per artist, which must be the original work of the artist and not previously displayed with this society. All works must be for sale. The artist warrants that they are the original author of the work. Furthermore, the work does not, to the best of the artist's knowledge, infringe the copyright or moral rights of any third party.

STILL LIFE: A work of art depicting inanimate objects which may be natural or man-made. The work must be an original signed drawing or painting, mixed media, printmaking or 3D work, but exclude photography, or digital reproduction. Must not have been previously shown in any BDAS prize exhibition and must have been completed in the past 12 months. Artists may submit two works. All works must be for sale.

Note on size restriction: Work must not exceed 1.25m Width on outside measurement of frame, and are subject to a maximum weight restriction of 12kg
