Prize exhibition for watercolour painting

Jutta Chalk Watercolour 1st Prize Judge's comments: "In this work the artist has displayed a complete and effective control of the watercolour medium. The painting has a freshness and with the limited number of colours used has captured the environment as the title suggests - "Beneath the Reef". The strong blue complements beautifully with the orange forms. A truly striking painting. This work kept calling me back for another look. A most impressive watercolour."

Brian Stratton Watercolour 2nd Prize Judge's comments: "This is a watercolour that completely displays the beauty of colour washes on white paper. Great thought has been given to the elements of the subject, sand ridges, rock outcrops and the gentle sweeps leading the eye through the landscape. I find the warm earth colours so pleasing with a strong clear sky. Both paintings by the artist are perfect examples of that sure touch and control with watercolour"
